2017 has just begun, but before that, I want to share my experiences from last Christmas 2016. I am happy to say I had lots of fun. Being surrounded by friends and family is all one could ever need to end the year perfectly.
Even though we only had two weeks to enjoy the holiday spirit, my heart was set on making the most of it. These were the highlights of my Christmas break:
• December 21: Today was spent celebrating with classmates and batchmates in school. First we had mass in the sports pavillion, then celebrated as a class with a potluck, games, an an exchange of gifts.
• December 22: My friends and I celebrated Christmas with a dinner buffet at a hotel.
• December 24: Christmas eve. My family followed our annual tradition of taking pictures by the tree and eating dinner with our relatives from both my mom and dad's side.
• December 25: Christmas day. I was happy not only because I got to open presents under the tree, but I also felt the Christmas spirit in my house in the morning.
• December 31: New Year's Eve. We also celebrated this with our extended family by playing with fireworks and counting down to midnight.
• January 1: New Year's Day. My family celebrated by eating dinner in a restaurant.
• January 3: I celebrated the last day of vacation by going out with grandmother and cousin for lunch and spending the afternoon playing board games with them.
These moments are what made my Christmas meaningful.
